If consolidated bookings for live-aboard trips do not reach the minimum number specified on our website, the Client will be offered Resort based accommodation and a refund of any difference in price that may apply. The Company will make very effort to book additional guests to reach the minimum number required for the live-aboad week to proceed before and after departure.
ITINERARY
Day 1:
Arrival Minangkabau International Airport (MIA)
You will meet our staff at the exit gate and be guided to our mini bus, sedan and pick-up truck. Depending on your arrival time, you can choose to have our staff excort you to Muara harbour, to Villa Air Manis*, or to a hotel* of your choice (*extra charges apply)
You have time for shopping for snacks to take on your trip so let us know and will have your driver take you to a minimart. Dinner is your choice depending on where you elect to stay. Villa Air Manis rates include a home cooked meal. Seafood restaurants are great or you can eat at your city hotel.
At 8.00 pm you will be taken to our boarding area in Muara Harbor where our 45ft transfer boat will take you to Lautan Megah (she is too big to enter the river)
Aboard Lautan Megah you can enjoy a twilight beer or mixed drink or head straight for your air conditioned cabin below. Party with your friends in our huge rear deck saloon or catch up on some sleep...
Day 2:
Wake up to an exotic island scene. Early risers get to try their luck trolling for big fish as we approach the islands. Fresh brewed coffee, home made bread and lots of fruit are ready when you are. Around 7 am you arrive at E-Bay Left, south Siberut. You can head direct for the surf until the ship is ready for departure for a day cruising and surfing.
Depending on the conditions you will surf Kandui area (Playground), Iceland, Telescopes, Scarecrows, 7 Palms, The Bommie, Lances Left, Bintangs arriving at Lances Right (HTs) in time for the afternoon session. (Some resort guests may join this leg). Check our wave guide for details of these and other top Mentawai breaks.
Days 2 to 6
Lautan Megah will depart Lances area after dark and head south overnight. Depending on the swell and winds you will surf the big name breaks like Macas and Thunders on the way to some of the areas more remote breaks down south.
Lautan Megah will either move at night or at mid day when the sea breeze tends to bring on-shore conditions and when the sun is most intense. We make sure you are on the surf at dawn and for the afternoon glass off every day. Conditions will dictate your expedition path and our surf guide will discuss this with the group.
Surf some of the areas most remote and uncrowded waves as well as the world famous breaks like Macas, Rags, Thunders and The Hole.
At sunset on day 6 Lautan Megah will head north to arrive in South Sipura at dawn the next day.
Day 7:
Surf HTs or Lances Left in the morning then cruise to famous breaks like Scarecrows, Telescopes, Iceland, Rifles and Kandui Lefts. Your surf guide will head for the best wave on the day. Arrive at E-Bay in time for an afternoon surf and depart after dark for Padang on board Lautan Megah.
Day 8:
Arrive Padang at 5 am and our staff will take you to the airport, your choice of city hotel* or to Villa Air Manis* depending on your flight schedule. (*extra charges apply). Your tranfer to the airport is included regardless of where you stay.
INCLUDED
Airport greeting and transfer service in air conditioned mini bus or sedan on arrival and departure.
- 3 meals per day aboard Lautan Megah or in resorts

- Free self served tea coffee and bottled water
- Use of snorkel and non powered water sports equipment
- Supervised use of fishing equipment

- Travel and medivac insurance
- Meals and accommodation ashore or in transit
- Air Tickets or costs associate with missed flights or conections
- Alcohol, tinned or bottled drinks
- Fresh ground filter or percolated coffee
- Video or Still images shot by resident photographers
- Surf coaching or tuition
- Medications.
*Speedboat access to surf breaks more than 5km from resort will be charged at $50 per person with 2 persons minimum.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Longer packages can be booked by adding 7 night modules in resorts or on Lautan Megah (other live-aboards may be available)
- Any additional transfers between resorts cost $100 per person.
- Exclusive trips on Lautan Megah by arrangement.
- $3/day Mentawai Tourism Tariff + $2/day MMTA Community Development Tariff will be added to the rate advertised at checkout.
- Optional $75 per person Padang supplement overnight at Villa Air Manis or $35 per person half day while waiting for evening transfer to Islands.

25% deposit to confirm booking
75% balance paid 60 days prior to booking date.
Payments are non refundable for boat bookings but may be transfered for resort bookings on approval by MS
